Meet Andrew Koppens

Certifying Drainlayer · Tauranga, Bay of Plenty

Andrew is a Certifying Drainlayer based in Tauranga. He started out as a small engine mechanic but quickly realised he had a passion for drainlaying, and he's now been in the drainage industry for over a decade. Andrew learned the trade working in the family business in Auckland alongside his father, where he gained his qualifications.

His experience spans large commercial and residential developments, including schools, hotels, and multi-dwelling subdivisions, as well as small drainage projects. Today he focuses on smaller jobs: renovations, extensions, single-house builds, sleepouts, conversions, drain repairs, unblocking, and maintenance.

Andrew moved to the Bay of Plenty with his wife Stacey and their two children, where he now runs his own business. Stacey and Andrew also work on their own property developments,  an invaluable experience, as Andrew understands the whole process from start to finish. He has always enjoyed drainage and has a genuine passion for his work.

Andrew has since expanded the business to include plumbing, while still operating from the family home — ensuring those savings are passed on to other local families through affordable solutions. The focus is simple: delivering high-quality work in a timely manner, keeping busy, and working hard.
